This book is really fun. It contains the familiar “Hedwig’s Theme”, but also a lot of other songs that make for great piano solos. The Waltzes are catchy, and you can add a lot of color and dynamics to “Harry in Winter”.

I bought this for my little niece that plays cello and she absolutely loves it! I play cello as well and this is a great way to encourage a young cellist to play because it is music that they are most likely familiar with and will love, especially if they are an avid harry potter fan. The CD provides both a band version and a solo version and is a great help.
I didn’t realize that this was the easy piano version, but it didn’t matter because it still sounds good when played on a piano. I especially love the book.
It may be a reflection on how I play the piano rather than the quality of the music, but most of the songs in this book are not recognizable when I play theme only Hedwig’s Theme sounds familiar to me of course, who really listens to background music in a movie. Maybe if I had the soundtrack I would be able to hear how the music is supposed to sound.
This book is rated as “easy piano”, but is actually more of an intermediate collection. Movie theme music can often sound nothing like the real thing, but these songs come pretty close. They are well written and lots of fun to play.
